1967 & 1968 Championships Reunion

Scots Football Reunion News Note #2

Positive momentum has been developing as the calendar confirms to us that the weekend is only 33 days ahead.  To date, we have 16 registrations in hand. (Cantrell, Fuzak, Gray, Jeremy, Jones, Schelke, Stolz, Bongard, Dukes, List, Bache, Zins, Robertson, Sweeney, Ciceri and Powers)  Your captain/leaders have been receiving marching orders from Coach Klenk and the “bull dogging” is producing excellent results.  ONLY THREE (Larry Andrus, Fred Bateson, and Jim Goodrich ) are unable to attend but send greetings.  Phone calls, letters and e-mails between teammates are always the principle stimulus for assembling the largest possible attendance.  We have information that another eight, perhaps nine, squad members will be returning the registration form so we expect excellent attendance.

The DVD production is nearing completion and lacked only film footage from the ’67 season.  Denny Bongard and John Fuzak are furnishing some film so the DVD should be completed sometime during the upcoming week.  Themedia services office is preparing a special cover jacket. Again, the intent is to be showing the DVD during the reunion and then to add photos taken during the reunion to the finished product, which will be sent to those who attend.  Thanks, Denny and John, and Skip Traynor from media services.

The Comfortable Inn in Alma (989 463 1135) has offered a special rate of $65.00, plus tax, for reunion guests.  Any problem, refer to “Gayle”.  You should have a master lodging list already if you prefer to make separate arrangements.

These news notes are being posted on the college web page each week.  The more e-mail addresses we have, the better we can serve you and the easier it is to contact your teammates.  To keep up to date, alma.edu and click on athletics.

Current SCOT football coach, alumnus Jim Cole, is ordering miniature football helmets that reproduce the white helmet and decal you wore during both the ’67 and ’68 seasons.  Your uniform number will appear on the back of the helmet.  This should be an excellent souvenir and desktop reminder of a very special weekend.

Next news note, we share with you the dinner menu and an updated reunion program.  Any questions or concerns, call me (989 464 2082) or e-mail  (gray@alma.edu).
