BASEBALL: Scots Finish Spring Trip with 10-3 Loss
Feb. 29, 2008
The Scots took the field for the final time in Myrtle Beach and were in position to win before relief pitching blew a 3-1 lead in the sixth and led to a 10-3 loss at the hands of Manchester College.
Matt Gorman (Gladwin) started on the mound for the Scots and threw five strong innings giving up justĀ four hits and one run while striking out three and putting the Scots ahead with a 3-1 lead. However, poor relief pitching gave up seven runs in in the final three innings, leading to the 10-3 loss and the Scots finishing their trip with a 1-5 record.
Offensively, Jeremy Stephens (Maple Rapids/Fulton-Middleton) and Travis Maxey (Novi/Walled Lake) each went two for three in the game and Ray Foley (New Hudson/South Lyon) went one for four.
