BASEBALL: Scots Play Seven Innings Strong, Drop Fourth Straight

The Alma College Baseball Team (0-4) took on Concordia University- Ann Arbor (5-0) and played them to a 2-2 tie through seven but gave up seven runs in the last two innings to fall by the score of 9-2.

Freshman Corey Brohl (Richmond) got the start on the mound for the Scots and had a very strong showing.

Junior Adam Carrick (Essexeville/Jackson C.C.) had another multi-hit game for the Scots going 2-4. Junior Jeremy Stephens (Maple Rapids/Fulton-Middleton) went 2-3 in the outing and freshman Joe Youchock (Royal Oak) went 2-4 from the dish with a double.

The Scots will look for their first win of their trip as they take on the College of Staten Island tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Judd Folske

Judd Folske

Judd Folske is entering his first year as Alma College Head Baseball Coach in the 2007-2008 season after spending two years as an assistant coach with the program. Coach Folske joined the Maroon and Cream in the fall of 2005 after stops at NCAA Division I Central Michigan University, and stints at Div. II schools Saginaw Valley State University and Ferris State University. He also serves the athletic department as assistant athletic director.

While head coach of the CMU Chippewas, Folske posted a 131-98 mark. In 2000, he finished in a tie for first in the MAC conference with a record of 41-17 (18-8). Folske retired after the 2003 season at CMU, and went to work as an assistant at SVSU, where he worked in that capacity for two seasons.
