MIAA Announces All-League Selections
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced the
2006 MIAA All-League Selections and seniors Brandon Teenier (Holly) and
Pat Ott (East Lansing) have been named first team All-MIAA while senior
Pete Ott (East Lansing) was the only second team selection from the
Scots' roster. Mike Zuehlke (Mt. Pleasant), Josh Reece (Norton Shores/Muskegon Mona Shores), Ray
Ribitch (Mt. Pleasant) and Pat McGuire (Clare) each earned coaches'
honorable mention recognition.
Teenier earned first team honors for the second time in his career as
the Scots' pitching ace posted a 6-3 record on the season, throwing
five complete games in 11 starts. He posted an ERA of 3.46 in 65
innings pitched, holding opposing batters to just .245. In MIAA games,
Teenier was 5-3 on the season with a 2.81 ERA, making eight starts and
throwing five complete games in 51.1 innings pitched.
Pat Ott earned first team honors for the first time in his career after
batting .402 in MIAA games, starting all 28 with a slugging percentage
of .537 and aan on-base percentage of .473. He led the team in batting
average for the season hitting .372 in all games, starting all 37 games
for the Scots. With 10 doubles, a triple and a home run, Ott was one of
the strongest batters in the Scots' lineup.
Pete Ott earned second team honors batting .311 for the season with
nine doubles, three triples and a home run. In MIAA games, he batted
.349 and played in 26 of the 28 conference games.
Mike Zuehlke started at catcher , batting .302 for the season with a
team-high three home runs and 10 doubles. His fielding percentage of
.994 led the team with just one error on the season.
Josh Reece hit .291 for the season and .250 in MIAA games. The first
baseman had six errors on the season for a fielding percentage of .978.
Ray Ribitch led the team with 20 stolen bases on the season, inlcuding
11 in MIAA games and was caught stealing twice - both in MIAA contests.
He hit .240 for the season and .250 in MIAA games and ends his career
with the Scots as the all-time stolen bases leader in the MIAA and in
the history of Alma College.
Pat McGuire, the designated hitter in 2006, ended the season hitting.
363 overall and in MIAA games. His three home runs, six doubles and one
triple were among the best performances on the team while his 31 RBI
led the team.
