Ray Ribitch Continues Assault on Record Books

ALMA, Mich. - Alma College senior outfielder Ray Ribitch (Mt. Pleasant) set the school's all-time stolen base record as a sophomore and now he continues his ascent up the Alma College baseball record books as his career in Maroon and Cream winds to a close.

Yesterday (Apr. 23) in doubleheader MIAA action at Adrian, Ribitch became the all-time at bats leader with 399, breaking Jason Biehl's record of 393 in his four year career from 1999-02.

With eight games remaining, Ribitch has played in 123 games. The school record stands at 130, held by Steve Vance (1993-97). Current Scot Pat Ott (East Lansing) has played in 114 career games, good for fifth on the all-time list.

Ribitch also has 113 career hits - the school record, held by Brent Neubecker (1992-95) stands at 129. Ott has 105 career hits.

Steve Slowke's (2000-03) career runs record of 90 could be in danger as Ribitch currently has 83 runs to go with his school-record 90 stolen bases.

Alma hosts Albion College April 27 at Klenk Park in MIAA doubleheader action, hits the road for doubleheaders against the Britons and Kalamazoo and then hosts the Hornets in the final regular season game on May 6.

Continue to follow Ribitch and the Scots as they leave their mark in the Alma College history books.
