Alma Makes Clean Sweep of Thunder

ALMA, Mich. - With ice on the Klenk Park field prior to today's game, the weather proved to be bright and sunny yet cool as the Scots made a clean sweep of Tri-State in 3-1 and 5-1 wins.

In game one, freshman pitcher Joe Thiry went a complete seven inning game, striking out five and scattering five hits. He allowed just one run - in the top of the second - and never surrendered the lead as the Scot offense generated two hits in the bottom of the first and an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.

For the game, Pete Ott was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBI.

In game two, Alma scored single runs in the bottom of the first and second innings as Tri-State answered with a run in the top of the fourth. Alma went out swinging, adding three more runs in the sixth to make the score 5-1.

Alma is now 9-10 overall and 5-5 in MIAA action.
