Alma Can't Stop Olivet in 18-1, 10-8 Losses

OLIVET, Mich. - The Alma College baseball team stumbled at Olivet Saturday in the first of two games and staged a comeback that was not enough in game two. Alma fell to Olivet 18-1 and 10-8 on the afternoon.

The Scots dropped the contest, 18-1, to the Comets.

In game two, Alma staged a momentous comeback in the fifth inning when, down by eight, the Scots scored six runs, all with two outs on the board. Despite an additional run in the sixth and seventh innings, it was not enough to get past the Comets in the second game.

Pat McGuire (Clare) went 2-for-3 in game two with two RBI and two runs while pitchers Wade Slavik (Ashley/Fulton) and Adam Jerry (St. Louis) shared time on the mound for the Maroon and Cream, each working three innings.

Alma’s “green” residence hall, Wright Hall, was completed in January 2005. The modern, 60-bed apartment-style hall features a number of environmentally friendly features, including geothermal heating and cooling, recycled-content ceiling tiles and carpeting, energy-efficient windows, rooftop solar heating panels, energy-efficient showers and washing machines, and a computerized energy monitoring system.
