Important Renovation

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING HOGAN RENOVATION

Update — April 29, 2009

Due to circumstances created by the on-going construction in the Hogan Center, the pool will be closed for an indeterminate period of time this summer.

We are working with our contractors to have the pool operational as soon as possible, but it may be necessary to have the pool unavailable this summer instead of the summer of 2010. More information will be forthcoming as soon as it is known.

Hogan Renovation Information

The Hogan Physical Education Center will be undergoing renovation. Please read on for important information regarding how the reconstruction may affect you.

April 3, 2009 — Coaching staff moves to Alan J. Stone Center for Recreation
April 20, 2009 — Fencing erected around perimeter of Hogan Physical Education Center; access to building is limited.
September 15, 2009 — Coaching Staff Returns to Hogan Physical Education Center
August 2010 — Construction Completed

Pool Access and Parking

Please see the top of the page for updated news about the Hogan pool and its hours of operation during construction.

~~The Hogan pool will remain open during all phases of renovation/construction. However, renovation/construction will affect parking for and access to the pool.~~

~~After April 20, access to the pool will be limited to the north entrance of Hogan. Parking will be limited to the lot behind the College's Physical Plant, located off of Superior St.~~

Alma College's partnership with the Pine River Superfund Citizen Task Force, an EPA-sanctioned Community Advisory Group (CAG), received the 2008 Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Partnership Award for Campus-Community Collaboration, sponsored by Michigan Campus Compact. The Task Force is recognized as one of the most influential and active CAGs nationally and as having the largest membership of any CAG in the United States....

Judd Folske

Judd Folske is entering his first year as Alma College Head Baseball Coach in the 2007-2008 season after spending two years as an assistant coach with the program. Coach Folske joined the Maroon and Cream in the fall of 2005 after stops at NCAA Division I Central Michigan University, and stints at Div. II schools Saginaw Valley State University and Ferris State University. He also serves the athletic department as assistant athletic director.

While head coach of the CMU Chippewas, Folske posted a 131-98 mark. In 2000, he finished in a tie for first in the MAC conference with a record of 41-17 (18-8). Folske retired after the 2003 season at CMU, and went to work as an assistant at SVSU, where he worked in that capacity for two seasons.
