2007-08 MIAA Academic Honors Announced

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced its academic honors for the 2007-08 season and Alma College is proud to have several of its teams and student-athletes recognized for their outstanding efforts in the classroom.

Since 2003, twenty-three Alma College students have won prestigious national fellowships, scholarships and awards, including 13 Fulbright fellowships and multiple Udall, Truman, Marshall and Gates-Cambridge scholarships.

Jim Cole
Graduation: 1974

Jim Cole '74 enters his 17th season at the helm of the Scots. In 2004, Cole led the Scots to the MIAA title and a berth in the NCAA Division III national playoffs, the second time in three years the Maroon and Cream advanced to the NCAA postseason.

A former All-MIAA and All-District quarterback for the Scots, Cole draws on the championship experiences of playing for the 1970, '71 and '72 MIAA co-champions and coaching the 1988 co-champ's defense.

Cole sports a career mark of 94-60-0, placing him tied in all-time wins at the College with Brooks (94-86-0, 20 seasons).
