Alma College Varsity Athletics Go 10-1 Over the Weekend
Mar. 30, 2008
It was a great weekend for those loyal to the Maroon and Cream as their teams were almost perfect, going a combined 10-1 in varsity team play.
Leading the way was the Lady Scot Softball Team that won two on Friday against Bluffton College before taking one each from Denison and Ohio Weslyan on Saturday. The four wins made them 6-0 in the last week and improved their winning streak to seven.
The AC Baseball Team also did their part, taking three of four from Albion College to win the season series. The Scots lost the first game on Saturday and then took the next three to give them an excellent start on their MIAA schedule.
The Alma College Men's and Women's Tennis Teams supplied the other three wins as the Lady Scots beat Tri-State on Saturday by the score of 6-3 and the Men got a pair of sweeps over Bluffton and Defiance.
This almost perfect weekend, allows us all a chance to take a moment to appreciate our student athletes and the time and work they put in to represent Alma College in intercollegiate athletics. So if you see an athlete on campus, congratulate them on being part of an outstanding weekend in AC athletics.
And check out each team's website to see in detail how they are doing in the 2008 spring campaigns.
Go Scots!
