Dan Fraser Selected to Attend NCAA Leadership Conference

ALMA, Mich. - Alma emphasizes leadership and nowhere is that more apparent than in its student-athletes and the recent selection of Dan Fraser to attend the 2007 NCAA Leadership Convention. The annual NCAA National Leadership Conference provides the NCAA student-athlete an opportunity to discuss openly issues that affect them directly on campuses and in their communities. It also serves as an opportunity to develop and enhance leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Fraser is a member of Alma's men's tennis team and the College's Model U.N. team.

The five-day leadership conference consists of daily exercises and activities to help the student-athletes develop as individuals and as contributing members to a group.

The conference is held in Lake Buena Vista, Florida at Walt Disney World and is part of the NCAA's CHAMPS/Life Skills Program.

Fraser is the third Scot in as many years to attend the conference. Last year, Jason Latz attended while the year before, Erin Hemerling attended the conference.

Alma is one of only 100 colleges and universities to be named to the Templeton Honor Roll in the Templeton Guide: Colleges That Encourage Character Development.
