The 2008 MIAA Track & Field Jamboree hosted by Alma College on April 12th is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., using a rolling format where one event will begin as soon as the previous one ends.

Field Events:

Shot Put (W) followed by men – 9:00 a.m.
Discus (M) followed by women – 9:00 a.m.
Pole Vault (M) followed by women – 9:00 a.m.
Javelin – 9:00 a.m.
Long Jump – 9:00 a.m.
High Jump – 10:00 a.m.
Triple Jump – 1:00 p.m.
 

 

Many of Alma’s pre-law graduates go on to attend prestigious law schools, including 2004 graduate Jessica Karbowski, who was accepted at Yale, Stanford and Harvard law schools and is attending Yale. Colin McGlaughlin, a 20004 graduated enrolled at Case Western Reserve Law School, is the first American to intern at the International Criminal Court at The Hague in the Netherlands.

Dennis Griffin

Dennis Griffin

Denny Griffin is heading into his 26th year at Alma College and his 20th at the helm of the Scots softball program. He moved into the head softball coaching position in 1989 after two years as assistant coach. His teams have never fallen lower than third place in conference standings and 12 of his last 14 teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to his softball duties, Griffin is the program director for the Athletic Training Education Program. He teaches first aid/CPR and sports medicine classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department.
