Alma College Weekend of Highland Arts Nov. 5–6, 2011
Alma College is well known for its Scottish heritage, and practitioners of the highland musical arts are invited to register for piping and drumming workshops, to be held Nov. 5–6, 2011, on the College’s picturesque campus.
Sessions are aimed at individual musicians as well as ensembles and will focus on techniques, improving ensemble performance, and working with various types of music.
Bagpipe instructors Barry Conway, Andrew Duncan and Ken Eller will lead the piping workshop on Saturday and Sunday, which is $125 and includes five meals and classes. Single session cost is $35.
Drumming instructor Andrew Hoinacki will lead the drumming workshop for snare, bass and tenor drummers. It takes place Saturday and Sunday and is $125, which includes five meals and six classes. Single session cost is $35.

Pre-registration is required and includes admission to a Saturday evening concert featuring the Alma College Pipe Band and Kiltie Dancers. Lodging is not provided.
