There are many ways to give, and none is better than a gift of your time to Alma College. Listed below are a few ways you can make a difference:

  • Serve on Alumni Board
  • Become involved with Tartan Clubs
  • Take part in the Metro Detroit Business Roundtable to assist graduates with employment in the business world;
  • Offer your perspective on “Life Beyond Alma” through the speaker series on campus, which features alumni addressing career and graduate school topics;
  • Volunteer to assist with events, promoting Alma College in various ways.

Alma College’s nationally recognized Model United Nations program has won top honors for 16 consecutive years (1997–2012) — the longest active winning streak of any college or university in the nation. Alma College’s all-time 30 “outstanding delegation” awards are the most of any college or university in the 90-year history of the conference.

Graduation: 1981

Paul Burns ’81, today a physician for The Dow Chemical Company, was the youngest of eight growing up on the family farm in Hubbardston.

Influenced by a local doctor to consider a medical career, Burns narrowed his college search to the University of Michigan, University of Chicago and Alma College.

Alma won out for a variety of reasons.
