Alma College students willingly express their appreciation for the scholarships they receive. The following letter by Melissa Andrews ’10 to George Gazmararian is shared by permission.

Mr. George Gazmararian,
I would like to thank you very much for the George Gazmararian Endowed Global Experience Scholarship. Because of this scholarship, I will be traveling to New Zealand for 18 days—an experience that for me would never have been possible without your financial assistance. I am a double major in psychology and business with a minor in sociology. I couldn’t really pick just one thing, so I decided to keep my options open.
Besides taking 17 to 19 credits every term and working three to five jobs on campus, I am currently or have been an active member of SIFE, SUN, Alpha Phi Omega, Psi Chi, Kiltie Wind Ensemble, Kiltie Marching Band, the Recycling Program, and the Physics Club. I’ve tried to get as much out of my college experience as possible, which is why your scholarship means so much to me because it is helping me do just that.

Alma College trustees have adopted a master plan that provides a direction and set of priorities for the development of the physical campus. Key components include an emphasis on advanced and interactive learning, prioritized building renovations, housing initiatives that accommodate enrollment growth, a reconfiguration of parking lots and green spaces, and campus growth plans linked to the Alma downtown business environment.
