Put a Face With Your Gift!

We’re proud to introduce you to four of our 1,384 students on campus this year, each of whom benefit from your gifts to the ALMA FUND.

Alma students are as bright, unique and energetic as ever. After benefiting from a personalized experience coupled with extraordinary opportunities, they’ll join other Alma graduates with outstanding skills that will serve them in their professions and communities in a changing and challenging world.

With 99% of our students relying on scholarships and financial aid, one of the best ways you can help is by contributing to the ALMA FUND. Alma College is blessed with loyal alumni, friends and parents who are committed to our liberal arts mission and give each year.

ALUMNI PARTICIPATION

The number of alumni contributing to the College each year is a critical statistic for Alma College. Not only do the collective dollars from Alma's "loyal hearts" make a difference the campus can feel every day, but the percentage of alumni participation has a direct effect on corporate and foundation grant support.

The percentage is based on a single counting of alumni who have made a gift of any amount, to any fund-raising effort, within a given fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Alma College is blessed with wonderful support from alumni who support a vision for Alma's future and the promise of successful lives for new generations of alumni.

Alma College received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation in August 2009 for research that could eventually lead to the development of more effective drugs to treat and prevent certain kinds of influenza, including human infections of swine and avian flu. "This project provides an opportunity for students to get involved in important laboratory research," says faculty member Jeff Turk, principal investigator.
