While Alma College has undoubtedly changed over the years, one thing remains the same - there is a sense of family to the students, athletes and teams on this campus. Look at the football team with one set of twins (Cole and Tyler Thelen); the baseball team with another set of twins (Pete and Pat Ott) and brothers Scott and Ray Ribitch; women’s soccer’s Chelsey Volant, whose brother Chad was a senior on the football team; and volleyball’s All-American Erin Fralick, whose brother Gavin was a standout on the football team and graduated in 2003.
On a football Saturday, head coach Jim Cole’s three children — Scotty, Jaycee and Taylor — roam the sidelines as they have done for as long as any of them can remember. It is like this with most coaches and their children - game days, winning and losing are family affairs.
This issue of Accents highlights a selection of siblings who have called Alma College home.
