Merit Scholarships

Merit scholarships are based on high school GPA and ACT/SAT scores for incoming freshmen. Transfer student merit awards are based on college GPA.

Distinguished Scholar Award 
National Merit, Achievement and Hispanic Scholars have a prestigious opportunity at Alma College: they will be invited to apply for a limited number of scholarships up to full tuition. Details will be personally provided by the Alma College Admissions staff upon acceptance.

Trustee Honors Scholarship*
$14,000/year. The average recipient has a high school GPA of 3.8 and an ACT 30/SAT 2000.

Presidential Scholarship*
$13,000/year. The average recipient has a high school GPA of 3.6 and an ACT 28/SAT 1880.

Dean’s Scholarship*
$12,000/year. The average recipient has a high school GPA of 3.4 and an ACT 25/SAT 1710.

Tartan Award
$10,000/year. The average recipient has a high school GPA of 3.2 and an ACT 22/SAT 1530.

Achievement Award
$8,000/year. The average recipient has a high school GPA of 3.0 and an ACT 20/SAT 1410.

Transfer Student Scholarship
$8,000-$10,000/year. Based on college GPA

*Scholars Summit
Freshmen earning the Trustee Honors, Presidential or Dean’s Scholarships will be invited to attend Scholars Summit, where they will interview for additional scholarship funds. Transfer students with a college GPA of 3.0 or higher will also be invited to interview on an individual basis. These distinguished awards range from $500 to $3,000 per year.
