Financial Aid Appeals
If you, and/or your parents and/or spouse, believe you have special circumstances to be considered for the 2017-2018 academic year, please start by writing us a letter describing the situation. If we find that your circumstances may possibly qualify for any financial aid adjustments, we will contact you and request additional information needed to complete the process.

Special Circumstances could include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Unemployment or change in employment
• Divorce or separation
• Death of a parent or spouse
• Elementary or secondary school costs
• Medical/dental expenses
If you are considering withdrawing from Alma College, we will be sad to see you go, but we want to make sure we provide you with the details on how your withdrawal will impact your financial aid.
Off Campus Housing / No Meal Plan
Please remember your aid will be reduced if you choose to live off campus or opt out of the meal plan. For more details, review this information on our Policies webpage.
