Renewing Your Aid

As a returning student, there are a few steps necessary in order to renew your financial aid.  Please look at the categories below to see if there is anything you will need to do, and please contact our office if you have any questions.

Please review the student loan renewal checklist to see what steps, if any, you will need to complete in order to take your student loans.

PLUS Loans

A PLUS Loan application must be completed every year that the parent would like to take out a PLUS Loan for his or her student. If you have previously taken out a PLUS Loan and completed a Master Promissory Note (MPN), then that MPN will be active for 10 years.  A separate PLUS MPN is required for each dependent student, or if both parents want to borrow individually on behalf of the same student.

Scholarships and Grants

Alma College scholarships and grants will remain consistent throughout your time at Alma College as long as your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) on your FAFSA remains relatively consistent.  Federal and State scholarships and grants will fluctuate year to year depending on government funding.

All need-based scholarships and grants are subject to change if your EFC changes significantly.
