20 Ways Alumni Can Help with Recruiting

1. Wear Alma gear to high school sporting and performing arts events.

2. Bring students to visit campus (your kids, other relatives, students, friends’ kids, etc.).

3. Refer a student.

4. Use an Alma lanyard or key chain.

5. Write notes with Alma pens and notepads.

6. Display an Alma sticker on your car.

7. Be able to describe the value of your Alma experience in two sentences – and be prepared to deliver them!

8. Go to your church youth group or community group and offer to talk about Alma.

9. Volunteer for activities involving teens and ask about their college plans.

10. Get involved in service learning opportunities through Alma – then share your pictures and stories afterward with your friends, family and church.

11. Check the Alma Web site regularly to stay aware of opportunities and changes.

12. Identify fellow alumni who are coaches, teachers and counselors and encourage them to display Alma items.

13. Stay connected to departmental events and get involved in their activities and research.

14. Mention Alma College in your biography when speaking or writing.

15. Schedule your own visit to reacquaint yourself with Alma.

16. Get involved in high school career fairs/events and mention Alma.

17. Donate to Alma College to help improve/maintain national rankings.

18. Fly an Alma College flag.

19. Acknowledge Alma attire whenever you see it.

The $10.2 million Hogan Center renovation and building project includes the construction of a new sports arena and convocation center along with renovated locker rooms, athletic training space, natatorium, coaches' offices and classrooms. The "new" Hogan is designed to be Alma College's first LEED-certified building for sustainable construction. The estimated completion date is August 2010.

Alma’s professors treat students more as peers welcoming student input and collaboration on faculty projects.
