Alumni Ambassadors

The purpose of the Alumni Ambassadors is to utilize the energy of our Alumni volunteers to assist the campus community in recruiting superior applicants. We understand the immense impact our alumni can have on the recruitment efforts of Alma College. Alumni offer prospective students and their families tangible evidence of what the Alma Experience can provide them. Ambassadors are involved in a variety of activities, the biggest of which is identifying potential applicants, providing a positive perspective on the College, and accumulating additional information about the applicant. Other activities include assisting staff at college fairs, attending on-campus events, and contacting prospective students.

Would you like to join the Alumni Ambassadors?  Click here to tell us about you and let us know how you can help recruit the next class of Scots!

Whether you sign up to be an Alumni Ambassador or not, there are some pretty simple things you can do to promote Alma College.  Check out "20 Ways to Help!"

Do You Know The Next Great Scot?

We've all met that great high school student who we immediately think would be a great addition to Alma College. Maybe it's your next door neighbor, someone you go to church with, your best friend's cousin or your nephew...

Whoever it is, make sure the Admissions Office knows about him or her. By completing our online referral form, you will notify the Admissions Office of the prospective student and your connection to him or her. The student will receive information about Alma College and get on our mailing list. As a high school senior, he or she will receive an application with a sponsorship application in your name waiving the $25 application fee (at no cost to you, of course!). Additionally, we will keep you updated on the student's progress through the admission process and provide you with information on what's happening in the Admissions Office and on campus.

Additionally, if you would like Alma College materials to place in your home, office, church, classroom, favorite coffee shop or to give to the next great Scot, just contact Laurie DeYoung '04 in the Admissions Office.

It's exciting to see other Alma College Alumni sporting Alma gear!  Next time you run across an alum wearing Alma College garb, get a name and address, then fill out the "Spot a Scot" form.  Both you and the Scot you spotted will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate to the Kiltie Korner Bookstore!  Winners will be drawn in conjunction with each edition of Accents.

More than 100 Alma College students and staff traveled to destinations in New Mexico, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Louisiana and North Carolina for service projects during winter break in February 2007. “Alternative Break service experiences continue to gain popularity on Alma College’s campus,” says Sallie Scheide, assistant director in the Center for Responsible Leadership.
