Position Description:

The Alma College Office of Service Learning is seeking a Community Service Intern to provide leadership, coordination and advisory assistance to the campus in support of co-curricular service and volunteer opportunities.  The intern will work closely with students, faculty, staff, and community partners to coordinate and implement service activities and related projects.  Duties also include development of promotional materials and completion of assigned reports.  This position will report to the Service Learning Coordinator.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.  Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.  Proficient in computer and technology use with a working knowledge of social networking.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications:  Demonstrated volunteer recruitment and management experience.  Demonstrated success in working with young adults.

This is a full-time temporary nine-month position beginning September 1, 2009.  Compensation includes a stipend, campus housing, and tuition waiver for up to 8 credits per term.
