HIGH SCHOOL DISCOVERY PROJECTS

Light passing through a prism

If you are a high school student, it isn’t too early to be involved in PRISM — in fact, you are right on time.

Each year, Alma College offers a minimum of three research projects to Michigan high schools. Under the guidance of supporting high school teachers and faculty here at Alma, we’ll work together to get you involved in a “hands-on” learning experience.

We want you to come to Alma with the same excitement that we have about science and math. To celebrate your hard work, the results of these projects will be presented at an event here on campus!

If you’re an interested high school teacher, you will need to attend workshops with the Environmental Studies, Public Affairs and Education faculty at Alma, where you will learn to incorporate the project into your classroom. We provide you with the training, the funding for the test kits and the venue to share your findings each year.

Alma College students have experiential learning opportunities in Washington, D.C. and around the world through the College’s partnership with the Osgood Center for International Studies. The Osgood Center offers annual leadership, business and foreign policy conferences for college students on contemporary international issues.
