Edward S. Curtis' "The North American Indian."
This digital collection presents the 2226 illustrations from The North American Indian by Edward S. Curtis.  While there is controversy about how Curtis romanticized American Indian culture, the intention of this digital collection is to present all of the published images in their entirety, with comprehensive identifying data including plate numbering, dimensions, and the original captions by Curtis. Part of the Library of Congress American Memory collection.

Amazon Watch
The goal of this organization is to work with indigenous and environmental organizations in the Amazon Basin to defend the environment and to advance indigenous peoples' rights in the face of large-scale industrial development-oil and gas pipelines, power lines, roads, and other mega-projects.

Latin American Network Information Center
LANIC is affiliated with the Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Its' mission is to facilitate access to Internet-based information to, from, or on Latin America. Their target audience includes people living in Latin America, as well as those around the world who have an interest in this region.

IPACC - The Indigenous Peoples of Africa Co-ordinating Committee
This group is an advocacy network of indigenous peoples organisations in Africa. IPACC has over 70 members around the continent and was founded in 1996. It was created by the caucus of African community organisations in attendance at the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations.

Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies
AIATSIS is an independent Commonwealth Government statutory authority devoted to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies. It is Australia's premier institution for information about the cultures and lifestyles of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

 

Students at Alma College can get involved in any of nearly 100 campus organizations, including fraternities and sororities, student government, academic honorary societies, campus media, intramural sports, the performing arts and worship groups.

Interests: Health Professions, Community Service

A Truman Scholarship finalist and Center for Responsible Leadership Fellow, Drew has traveled to South Africa and China studying the HIV/AIDS crisis. The Bay City native intends to use his French minor and POE in International Health to improve AIDS care in Africa, hopefully as a physician with a global public health organization.
