Summer Leadership Institute for Alma College students

The Summer Leadership Institute introduces students to the Center for Responsible Leadership. Through programming designed by Alma College faculty and staff, the foundation for leadership development is constructed.

The institute challenges you to learn about your own leadership vision and begin to develop the skills and knowledge needed to act with integrity to affect your life, work and world in positive and sustainable ways.

In addition to learning to be a global leader, you also will build lasting relationships with faculty members and other students. The experience is nothing short of memorable!

High School Leadership Academy:
Creating Video Documentaries to Raise Awareness of Leadership Issues

The High School Leadership Academy, sponsored by The Dow Chemical Company, provides high school juniors with the opportunity to take a critical look at leadership issues and to enhance their leadership skills. Project work on leadership issues utilizes the expertise of our faculty and the rich array of multimedia tools on campus. The academy incorporates scholarship, stewardship and leadership to help prepare the next generation of leaders for a changing world.

Past participants created original public service announcements on issues and problems related to water—global, regional or local. These videos may be viewed on YouTube:

Morgan Beeler

Morgan Beeler
Graduation: 2014
Major: Environmental Policy

When Fremont junior Morgan Beeler first visited Alma College, she immediately crossed it off her list of potential college choices. But once she took a better look at all the opportunities Alma gave its students, she says she quickly reconsidered.

“I’ve been able to get involved in so many amazing things here: Public Affairs Institute, P-Global, Model UN, Center for Responsible Leadership, Kappa Iota and Alma Symphony Orchestra,” she says. “Not only are all of these experiences going to benefit me on a graduate school application, but they have really molded me as a person. I now know who I am and what I want to do with my life.”
