Presidential Honors Program

The Presidential Honors Program at Alma College is an intellectual community centered on collaborative research and a conscious commitment to the liberal arts. Any student interested in the honors program is encouraged to apply.

All students at Alma have the opportunity to work one-on-one with professors doing original research

Honors scholars participate in special seminar opportunities and faculty-guided research projects that fit and enhance their majors and interests. Participants also have the opportunity to pursue departmental honors and, if they choose, membership in Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s preeminent honor society.

Honors scholars are expected to immerse themselves in campus and community service and act as role models for their student peers.

In addition to academic excellence, the Alma College Presidential Honors Program’s primary goals include stewardship, citizenship and leadership. Students who seek acknowledgement as their class’s standard bearers are encouraged to apply.
