Health Care Administration

Health Care Administration

One of Alma’s newest programs, debuting in 2011, Health Care Administration is designed to prepare students for entry-level and mid-level positions in the business and administration side of the health professions, including hospitals, nursing homes, physician practices, home care organizations, pharmaceutical firms and other related organizations.

With Alma's 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, students receive a great deal of one-on-one faculty attention.

It features courses in financial and managerial accounting, economics, health care finance and management, and strategic planning in health care as well as hands-on internship opportunities locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Students will complete a senior capstone project that includes active involvement in researching and solving real-world problems related to health care administration. Off-campus experiences will include placements at local health care facilities.

Alma College is seeking program accreditation with the Association of University Programs in Health Administration.
