Dr. Janet Navarro

Navarro contends that teacher education coursework should be closely linked to field experiences. To that end, she has worked to establish strong connections with cooperating teachers both at Michigan State University and the University of Washington at Bothell, where she was on the faculty.

Navarro's primary teaching responsibilities are literacy and language arts. She taught in Wyoming and Texas prior to earning her M.A. in literacy and Ph.D. in curriculum, teaching and educational policy at Michigan State University. While at MSU she was involved in the development of several innovative university-school partnerships.
