Facilities

The department is located in the lower level of the Swanson Academic Center. The 14000 sq. ft. facility includes faculty offices, laboratories designed for both animal and human studies, and informal meeting spaces. Specialized facilities include one-way mirror observations rooms, an environmental control chamber, a computer lab, rooms shielded from light, noise, or electromagnetic interference, neuroscience labs, and enough small rooms, so that every student engaged in indiviudal reseach can have their own laboratory or project office. We may be the only psychology department in the country that has its own electron microscope, available for undergraduate use.

More than a third of all Alma students take part in at least one performance each year. The College offers majors in theatre, dance and music, but students of all majors may join in productions. The Remick Heritage Center for the Performing Arts is the region’s premiere performing arts facility.
