How to Join

How to Join Alma College's Chemistry Club/XEM Honorary Chemistry

Requirements for a Chem Club member:

Having interest in chemistry is probably the biggest part of becoming a member. It doesn't need to be your major or even your minor.  Attendance is not required so you do not have to show up to every meeting.  There really isn't much else that goes into becoming a member!

Requirements for an XEM member:

A chemistry Major or Minor is looked strongly upon.  You must have a 3.5 cumulitive GPA in chemistry.  Attendance is required and participation in the Science blowouts is also required.  To be an XEM member you do not have to be a chem club member prior to inductions.   But it helps when the members know you!

Spring Term at Alma is a one-month immersion on a single academic topic that offers learning experiences not typically available during the more traditional 15-week fall and winter terms. For example, during Spring Term ’08, students toured cultural sites in Argentina, studied lizards in Jamaica, analyzed World War II topics at the British National Archives in London, performed music in Italy, and examined the natural wonders of New Zealand.
