Science Blowout 

Science Blowout is our Bi-annual chemistry show which brings in the other departments such as Biology, Psychology,  and Physics.  It includes a tour of DOW Science Center as you enter different rooms for different subjects and different experiments.  Near the end of your stay we hold our "Big Show" which is the climax of your stay.  We hold our big show in DOW L1 our largest lecture hall in DOW as we have a group of our members giving a presentation full of fun facts and cool tricks we've learned over the years!

More than a third of all Alma students take part in at least one performance each year. The College offers majors in theatre, dance and music, but students of all majors may join in productions. The Remick Heritage Center for the Performing Arts is the region's premiere performing arts facility.

Dr. Jeff Turk
Departments: Chemistry

Dr. Jeff Turk’s parents sealed his fate when they bought him a chemistry set at age nine. The last three weeks of his high school AP Chemistry class sparked his interest in organic chemistry.

The assistant professor of chemistry joined Alma faculty in 2006 after earning his undergraduate degree at Cleveland State University and his masters and doctorate degrees at the University of Cincinnati.
