Spring Term Websites

A number of spring term classes taught by department members have websites or places where you can find more information on the class, or read about past ventures.

STC 012  New Zealand Experience (Dr. Oemke and Dr. Nyman)   (2008 photos)

In this class, students study  the natural history, flora and fauna, economics, politics, and culture of New Zealand as  they travel across the North and South Islands.  Highlights of the trip include Dunedin, Stewart Island, Milford Sound, a kiwi hunt and a glacier walk, Wellington, Rotorua (Maori culture) and Aukland.

BIO 380 Bird Migration Around the Great Lakes (Mike Bishop)

Students travel from the western shore of Lake Huron and points inland up to the tip of Whitefish Point on Lake Superior. Permission.

Katy Rice

Major: Biology

Medical school may have been Katy Rice’s goal while studying biology at Alma College, but she still managed to make time to try as many new things as possible while earning her degree.

From the lab to the gym to halfway around the globe, she was everywhere as an Alma student. In addition to participating in numerous student organizations, the 2011 graduate was a resident assistant who ran tennis and cross-country and studied abroad.
