Transfer Policy

Transfer Students

Transfer students are encouraged to apply to the Athletic Training Education Program. They must fulfill all the program requirements as indicated. The Athletic Training Education Director and the Registrar will evaluate the coursework from the other institution to determine which courses will meet the requirements of Alma College and the Athletic Training Education Program. In addition the ATEP Director will determine which Athletic Training courses meet the program’s proficiencies and competencies. The transfer student will need to show proof of which clinical proficiencies and clinical experiences were taught by an ACI. The ATEP reserves the right to give the transfer student a comprehensive exam to test the educational level of the student.

In the more than 100 years since its founding, Alma has stayed true to its roots by keeping its Scottish heritage alive. Today, Alma features a marching band clad in Kilts, a Scottish dance troupe, student pipers and its own tartan. Each year, the College hosts the Alma Highland Festival and Games, which feature traditional Scottish games and revelry.

Student Profile

Elizabeth Saylor
Graduation: 2008
Major: Exercise and Health Science

Elizabeth Saylor knew she wanted to major in exercise and health science and Alma attracted her with its reputation and cadaver lab.

“I wanted to go somewhere that had small class sizes but still offered lots of opportunities,” the Allen Park senior says. “At Alma, I am able to not only learn all of the facts I need to go on in EHS, but also to acquire a good grasp of the big picture — how ’health’ really encompasses so many different things.”
