Alma College’s Integrated Health Studies Institute holds an annual health symposium that brings together health care professionals from different areas to discuss a topic in an interdisciplinary fashion. Future health care providers, academic administrators, coaches and athletes are all encouraged to attend this educational forum.
This year’s health symposium focuses on Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Sudden Death in the Young Athlete. The country’s leading experts will discuss critical issues related to Sudden Cardiac Death in the Young (SDCY) prevention, specifically as it relates to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), the leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young athletes. They also will provide the most current information on consensus guidelines for pre-participation screening and clinical management as well as emergency preparedness.
Please join us on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in the Dow Science Center at Alma College. Register online.
