Ensler is the author of The Vagina Monologues and founder of V-Day, an organization committed to ending violence against women.

Her stop at Alma was part of a tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of V-Day, which culminated with "Superlove," a two-day rally at the Superdome in New Orleans.

Alma College students Becky Peacock, Hillary Bard, Ashley Hennen, Amy Rockafellow and Ruth Nardecchia attended the rally. Click here to read their reflections.

Alma College trustees have adopted a master plan that provides a direction and set of priorities for the development of the physical campus. Key components include an emphasis on advanced and interactive learning, prioritized building renovations, housing initiatives that accommodate enrollment growth, a reconfiguration of parking lots and green spaces, and campus growth plans linked to the Alma downtown business environment.

Cathy Millon

Cathy Millon
Graduation: 2009
Major: Sociology
Minor: Women’s Studies and Psychology

If Cathy Millon ’09 were a superhero, her power would be activism.

The Alma College alumna is an AmeriCorps*VISTA worker with the Girl Scouts of America in Colorado. She builds partnerships in the community, recruits volunteers and writes curricula for programs and events while interacting with young women.

“Our goal is to teach girls how to think, not what to think,” says Millon. “I love knowing I am helping to empower girls to fight against bullying, low self-esteem and unhealthy relationships.”
