Alma College Dance Company -- Fall Concert

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the first performance of Diaghilev's Ballet Russes, Associate Professor Thomas Morris will stage Les Sylphides.  With its score by Chopin, the ballet is a romantic reverie that is a treat to all the senses.  Kristin Bender Polizi '95, artistic director of Surfscape Contemporary Dance Company in Florida, returns to her roots to set a work on the ACDC dancers.  Professor Carol Fike and Adjunct Professor Kristen Bennett will offer new works to the mix featuring modern, jazz, lyrical and avant-garde.

Alma College Dance Co. -- Student Choreographers’ Concert

Come and see what the Alma College dancers are up to as they produce, choreograph, direct and completely design this very creative concert. Collaborating with theatre design students who will create and implement the lighting design for these dances, our dancers get to experience the thrill of producing and performing.

Alma College Dance Company -- Spring Concert

For our final performance of the year, co-directors Carol Fike and Thomas Morris, along with adjunct instructor Kristen Bennett, bring a variety of dances, from ballet to modern to jazz.  Come and see the Alma College Dance Company swing to the beat, hop to the jive, and gracefully flow to the rhythms of the soul.  Something for all ages to enjoy!

Jennifer Conkey
Graduation: 2006
Major: Theatre and Dance

Jennifer Conkey came to Alma College because of the dance program. Her experience helped her become a dance teacher and assistant director for the Minnetonka Dance Theatre and the school’s annual Nutcracker.

“My dance major has greatly improved my understanding of the dance world,” the 2006 graduate says. “It allowed me to continue to do something that I loved at the level I needed.
