Scholarship Information

Regardless of intended major or minor, musically talented students are encouraged to participate in the music program and audition for performance scholarships, which begin at $1,000 and may go up to full tuition pending a second round of auditions.

The Music Department holds instrumental and vocal scholarship auditions until the first week of March. To audition for an instrumental scholarship, you need to prepare two short contrasting etudes or a solo piece from solo and ensemble festival. For a keyboard scholarship, two contrasting works from the classical repertoire would be fine. For a vocal audition, please prepare two solo songs that demonstrate the level of your musical training and which are not simply your part of a choir song.

In order to audition, you must be accepted to Alma College. To complete an application for admission, please visit http://www.alma.edu/admissions/apply.

Please indicate the scholarships in which you are interested:

Scholarship auditions are arranged on an individual basis during your senior year of high school. Please call the Music Department at (989) 463-7167 if you would like to schedule an audition.
