“I’m really passionate about music,” he says. “I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. My biggest goal as a music educator will be to teach people how to love music as much as I do.”

And when it comes to his Alma experience, the Romeo junior’s enthusiasm never goes flat. Lodge says Alma has become more than just a college—it’s a family.

“It’s hard to say what I love the most about Alma because there are so many astounding things here,” he says. “I love my fraternity, the choir, and the daily interactions with amazing people that I have the privilege to know.”

In addition to being the song leader for Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Lodge participates in the Alma Choir, Scots on the Rocks and Off-Kilter. He also is a Spanish teaching assistant.

“Alma will give me a lot of versatility in what I can go into,” he says. “Very few people on campus aren’t involved in five or more things, and what you find you’ll learn through all those things will amaze you. I’ve been able to do so much more than I ever thought I would be able to.”

The Hogan Center is the first LEED-certified building (Silver level) for green construction at Alma College and in Gratiot County.
