Liang earned her Bachelor’s degree from Shandong Normal University and a Master’s degree from Beijing Language and Culture University. She taught at Tsinghua University and BLCU before she came to Alma.

“I am happy to see that more and more international students are attracted to China,” she says. “It’s so exciting that some of my friends can speak Chinese fluently. I keep working hard to show people the changes in modern China.”

Her favorite city is Beijing, where she studied for three years. She enjoys its charm and history as well as the Beijing culture and diversity.

In her spare time, she enjoys all kinds of films, reading, cooking Chinese food, jogging, Yoga, and classical and pop music!

Alma College received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation in August 2009 for research that could eventually lead to the development of more effective drugs to treat and prevent certain kinds of influenza, including human infections of swine and avian flu. "This project provides an opportunity for students to get involved in important laboratory research," says faculty member Jeff Turk, principal investigator.
