As a faculty member of the College’s Environmental Studies Program, his main goal is to promote awareness and education, address community concerns and foster environmental stewardship while introducing students to the relationship between science and society.

As a faculty member of the College’s New Media Studies Program, his primary aim is to instruct students in the rhetorical situation that both informs and is informed by the use of technology.

Vickery received his B.S. degree from the University of Alabama and his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin.

At a recent faculty forum, Dr. Vickery describes the ‘remarkable things’ that students do while they are here at and after they graduate from Alma College.

Alma College graduates have extraordinary placement rates into medical and law schools. Alma’s 84 percent placement rate into medical school compares to a 46.3 percent national average. Alma’s placement rate for law school is 86.9 percent, compared to a 66.8 percent national average.
