Scholarship Information

Regardless of intended major or minor, artistically talented students are encouraged to participate in the Art and Design Program and submit a portfolio for a scholarship, which begin at $1,000 and may go up to full tuition.

The Department of Art and Design considers portfolios throughout the school year until March 1. The portfolio should contain 8-10 original works. Each student must also prepare a "self portrait without showing your face" in any medium and a cover letter describing your particular areas of interest in art.

Please check the following areas as they apply to you:

The Corporation for National and Community Service named Alma College to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll in both 2008 and 2009 for exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth. The Honor Roll is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement.

Taylor Erwin

Taylor Erwin
Graduation: 2008
Major: Art, Business

Taylor Erwin started at Alma College majoring in business administration, but decided to add an art major in the middle of her junior year.

“I’ve always enjoyed art, designing and creating, and that’s when I decided just a business degree wasn’t enough for me,” the Fenton senior says. “I wanted to have more choices coming out of school and have the ability to pursue careers that I’d enjoy.”
