Scholarship Information

Regardless of intended major or minor, artistically talented students are encouraged to participate in the Art and Design Program and submit a portfolio for a scholarship, which begin at $1,000 and may go up to full tuition.

The Department of Art and Design considers portfolios throughout the school year until March 1. The portfolio should contain 8-10 original works. Each student must also prepare a "self portrait without showing your face" in any medium and a cover letter describing your particular areas of interest in art.

The $10.2 million Hogan Center renovation and building project includes the construction of a new sports arena and convocation center along with renovated locker rooms, athletic training space, natatorium, coaches' offices and classrooms. The "new" Hogan is designed to be Alma College's first LEED-certified building for sustainable construction. The estimated completion date is August 2010.

Brad Guigar always dreamed of being a professional cartoonist. His hard work and Alma College education have helped him achieve that goal.

A graphic designer for the Philadelphia Daily News, he also publishes two weekly comics for the paper. Courting Disaster is about love and relationships and Phables is about life in Philadelphia.
