What does it cost?

One of the biggest questions many students have is, “Can I afford to study off campus?” The answer? You can! For most programs, students pay Alma College tuition, room and board to study abroad.

Ecuador

There are a few select programs where the cost of the program exceeds that amount – in that case, you would be billed for the extra. Contact the ACP office to identify those programs.

If you are studying in spring and summer programs, you pay the fees associated with the particular program in addition to a $500 administrative fee.

In programs that do not offer room and board or meals (the Philadelphia Center and University of Otsego in New Zealand are two examples), you pay the landlord directly and buy and prepare your own meals.

Financial Aid

The financial aid you have to attend Alma College typically will follow you when you study off campus in an approved program. However, you MUST meet with the Financial Aid Director to discuss your particular circumstances.

Alma's "green" residence hall, Wright Hall, was completed in January 2005. The modern, 60-bed apartment-style hall features a number of environmentally friendly features, including geothermal heating and cooling, recycled-content ceiling tiles and carpeting, energy-efficient windows, rooftop solar heating panels, energy-efficient showers and washing machines, and a computerized energy monitoring system.
