
What can I study?
You can study the Greek language and culture as well as history, sociology and art, or intern with local non-governmental organization. All courses are taught in English.
Why Athens?
This ancient metropolis was the birthplace of western civilization. It is the capital and largest city in Greece with a population of just over 5 million people. Study in the city that is home to philosophers like Socrates and monuments like the Parthenon on the ancient acropolis. It is famous for its museums of ancient cultures as well as beginning the tradition of Olympic competition. As ancient Mediterranean history mixes with contemporary art and culture, this will be an unforgettable experience.
What are the requirements?
- 2.50 GPA
- Sophomore status
- No language requirement
Where will I live?
You are housed in furnished apartments near the classroom facilities. Meals are not included in program fees.

Scholarships are available through AHA International and Alma College Financial Aid is transferable to off-campus study programs.
Semester Programs: You will pay published Alma College tuition, fees and room. Since board is not provided, Alma College will adjust the fees accordingly.
How do I get started?
To begin the application process, visit the Academic and Career Planning Office (basement of the library). All applications are submitted to each program through the ACP Office on the student’s behalf.
