Sheila Boyer has worked for Alma College since 2000. She started as the Accounts Payable Clerk before moving into the Payroll Department. In 2007, Sheila joined the newly formed Academic and Career Planning Office where she is involved with all aspects of daily operation. She thoroughly enjoys working with students, getting to know them, and watching as they grow and develop as people during their time at Alma. Sheila has lived in Alma all of her life, she is married, she has one child - an Alma alum, a spoiled golden retriever and a yellow tabby cat. She is active in her church and enjoys working in her flower garden.

Julie Elenbaas
Office Associate

elenbaas@alma.edu

Julie Elenbaas began working at Alma in 1994 as the International Office Secretary before transitioning to the Off-Campus study program when the ACP office opened in 2007. She provides support and lends her expertise to students as they prepare for their off-campus study experiences. Julie has visited Alma programs in France, England, and Scotland. She is consistently amazed to see the profound impact that off-campus study has on students' personal and professional lives. She believes every student should attend an off-campus study program! Julie is married with two children, a cat, and a very small dog. She loves the beach - anywhere, as long as it's not raining.

Spring Term at Alma is a one-month immersion on a single academic topic that offers learning experiences not typically available during the more traditional 15-week fall and winter terms. For example, during Spring Term 2012, students observed lizards in Bermuda, studied modern economic development in India, performed dance in Taiwan, examined renewable energy in Europe and investigated medicinal plants in the Amazon rainforest.
