P-GLOBAL Fellowship Student Application

Deadline and Submission Details
  1. All materials should be completed and received by the Provost's office by March 10, 2008.
  2. Applications will be evaluated by the P-GLOBAL Steering Committee.
  3. Award notifications will be made as promptly as possible.
  4. Additional P-GLOBAL Fellowship applications will be considered after April 1, 2008 contingent on the availability of funds. Applications may be submitted at any time throughout the year.

In order to be considered for a P-GLOBAL Fellowship, students must:

  1. Complete and submit the online form on this page.
  2. Provide an official transcript to the Provost's office.
  3. Submit a brief statement of support by faculty sponsor to the Provost's office.
  4. Proposals not accepted for projects occurring after a student’s graduation.

Students whose proposals are accepted by the P-Global Steering Committee will also need to print, complete, and sign the scholarship agreement.

Please provide a one paragraph description of proposed internship, independent research project, or participation in a colloquium, seminar, conference or training opportunity.

 

Project Significance:
Please provide a detailed one paragraph description of how participation in a P-GLOBAL project will foster engagement with trans-boundary issues and provide an appreciation for the possibilities and obstacles to effective leadership in an international context.

 

Project Schedule:
Please provide a schedule of participation, including at a minimum the starting and ending date and location in which you will work and participate.

 

Project Budget:
Please provide as detailed budget as possible for project, including registration fees, research material costs, and travel and living expenses.

 

Previous International Experience:
Please provide a detailed description, including dates and purposes of travel, for all international experiences.

 

Project Qualifications:
Please provide a detailed statement indicating how the proposal (including a student’s qualifications) meets the P-GLOBAL selection criteria.

Spring Term at Alma is a one-month immersion on a single academic topic that offers learning experiences not typically available during the more traditional 15-week fall and winter terms. For example, during Spring Term ‘07 students explored important cultural sites in China, worked to restore a Jewish Holocaust cemetery in Poland, analyzed ethic politics in Scotland, and studied medieval literature in London.
