Hamilton Commons

Photo of Hamilton CommonsPhoto of a student serving herself in the dining hallHamilton Commons features the campus’ central student dining area, operated by Sodexho Campus Services. Students may select one of three meal plan options. These plans come with Munch Mooney, a great feature for students who miss a scheduled meal. Munch Money is used in place of cash at any Sodexho location on campus.

The newly renovated lower level of Hamilton Commons features Scotty’s, an on-campus convenience store, and a one-stop Student Services Center comprising the Business, Financial Aid, and Registrar’s offices. The Student Services Center offers students an easily accessible, single stop location to address needs related to student employment and payroll, financial aid, billing, course registration and the purchase of parking decals.

The Registrar’s Office provides information pertaining to classes, degree requirements, honors and transcripts.

Financial aid questions and concerns are handled in the Financial Aid Office.

Students make tuition and other College-related payments in the Business Office, while monthly paychecks for work-study and other student employees are issued from the Business Office.

Completed in 1967, this building was named in honor of former Alma President Roy W. Hamilton.

Spring Term at Alma is a one-month immersion on a single academic topic that offers learning experiences not typically available during the more traditional 15-week fall and winter terms. For example, during Spring Term '09, students toured cultural sites in Peru, studied alternative energy in Sweden, analyzed theatre and dance in London, and examined Native American culture at the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota.
