The house serves as a gathering place for the Alma College chapter of Gamma Phi Beta national sorority. The house also provides living space for 11 members of the sorority, including the president and vice president.
Alma offers 10 social Greek organizations: five fraternities and five sororities.
Bob Devaney, a 1939 graduate of Alma College, went on to become known as one of the greatest coaches in collegiate football history. In his 11 years as head coach at Nebraska, Devaney produced 11 winning seasons with two national championships. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1981. At Alma he played end and was the Scots’ Most Valuable Player in 1938.

Even at a young age, Kerry Dembowski Bryan ’09 knew that she was destined for a career in education.
“When I was 7, I got a letter from my teacher before school started,” she says. “I remember telling my mom that when I was a teacher, I would send out letters, too. Since then, my passion has never changed. I love working with children.”
