Festival Housing

Highland Festival guests are housed in residence halls across campus. Halls on the south side of campus (Carey, Bonbright, Nisbet and Brazell) are deemed “alcohol free.”

Room prices are $59 per night for double occupancy (two twin beds). Price includes linens, towel, soap and pillow.

Smoking is not allowed in any building on campus, including residence halls. Smoking is permitted at least 25 feet away from building entrances.

Check in begins at 5 p.m. Friday, May 24. Check out time is 1 p.m. Sunday, May 26. A fee of $50 will be charged for late checkouts.

Large groups and bands should contact the Conferences Office to make reservations at conferences@alma.edu or by calling 989-463-7148. Individuals reserving up to three rooms can make reservations and pay online.

 

In the more than 125 years since its founding, Alma College has stayed true to its roots by keeping its Scottish heritage alive. Today, Alma features a marching band clad in kilts, a Scottish dance troupe, a competitive pipe band and its own tartan. Each year, the College hosts the Alma Highland Festival and Games, which feature traditional Scottish games and revelry.

“Stuttering was a wound in my life, but inside this wound I found a gift — the ability to write and the ability to teach writing,” the professor of English says.
