Assistant or Associate Professor of Dance

The Alma College Department of Theatre and Dance seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Intermediate and Advanced Ballet Technique, beginning August 2013.  Experience teaching classical ballet technique, pointe, partnering, and women's variations are required.  Candidates must also have experience in staging classical and contemporary ballets, performance, and choreography.  Secondary areas of expertise could include Dance Philosophy and Criticism, Kinesiology and Injury Prevention, Somatics, Dance Ethnology, or Dance History.

If cardiac operations are a measure of how big a person’s heart is, Allie Gasiorowski takes the prize. Having survived four open-heart surgeries, the Birmingham senior is eager to help others with all of her aorta.

To do this, she designed a program of emphasis in nonprofit management. Her ultimate goal is to open up a camp or hospital program for teens with heart disease.
